The St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Newman Center Caring Ministry provides assistance and prayerful support for our parish family during times of illness, hospitalization, recovery, and bereavement. This ministry works with and in support of our clergy in this endeavor. We contact people by phone or visit them and offer the help of our committee members to arrange for Communion visits, meals, transportation, and other needed services. Letters of support, encouragement, and comfort are also a part of this ministry. Provision of post-funeral receptions is a gift from our parishioners to bereaved families.
There are opportunities for all parish members to participate by making the Caring Ministry and/or clergy aware of the needs of fellow parishioners who may need help. Post-funeral receptions and meals for those in need require the time and talents of many hands. We invite those who wish to assist to contact the coordinator, so we may call you when the need arises. The assurance of prayerful support of the entire community is a comfort to those facing crises, and in this way we invite all of you to participate in Caring Ministry through your daily prayers. All offers of help are gratefully received.
