Undergrad, Grad Students, and Young Professionals, join Fr. Lukasz, Julie, and your fellow Newmanites for World Youth Day 2016 in Krakow, Poland, AND the 800 year anniversary of the founding of the Dominican Order in Italy!
To accommodate a diversity of schedules we are dividing this trip into 3 segments. Young Adults can join us for a combination of any or all of these portions. The prices listed are only estimates based on tent camping, staying with host families in Poland, and modest food. They do not include any spending money.
Segment A: El Camino Polaco
July 16th – July 26th
We will start with visiting Warsaw, the capital of Poland. After a day of sightseeing we will catch a bus to a little medieval gem, the town of Sandomierz. From there we will be backpacking 192 km over the course of 6 days, as pilgrims along the Polish section of the medieval Way of St. James.
Cost: $150 (includes: hostel and food in Warsaw, bus fare, food and lodging along the Camino)
Segment B: WYD Krakow
July 26th – July 30th
Celebrating World Youth Day with Pope Francis and Young Adult from all over the world!
Cost: $200 (includes: pilgrim package, food, lodging, and public transportation)
Segment C: In the Footprints of St. Dominic
August 1st – August 9th
We will be taking a road trip through Italy while following the path of St. Dominic, from Rome (where he got his Order approved 800 year ago) to Bologna (where he is buried). On the way we will visit Assisi, Siena, Florence, and Pisa. On August 8th, the solemnity of St. Dominic, we will celebrate Mass at his tomb!
Cost: $600 (includes: air’n’b in Rome, car rental and gas, camping, food)
