The sacrament of the anointing of the sick brings comfort and spiritual healing to those who are going through sickness and the challenges of the old age. Since an important element of this sacrament is forgiveness of sins, only a priest can minister it. If you would like to receive anointing, please contact a hospital chaplain (all nurses should have his contact information). If that doesn't work, call any parish office in the vicinity of the hospital.
If you would like to have your loved one receive anointing, please make sure the sick person is actually open to this religious service. Once you have done so, please contact a hospital chaplain (all nurses should have his contact information). If that doesn't work, call any parish office in the vicinity of the hospital.
"By the sacred anointing of the sick and the prayer of the priests the whole Church commends those who are ill to the suffering and glorified Lord, that he may raise them up and save them. And indeed she exhorts them to contribute to the good of the People of God by freely uniting themselves to the Passion and death of Christ."
